"Moon and Meteor"

For some reason the title did not show up.

While taking night time exposures of the moon and sky in my backyard, I was lucky enough to get this shot. Notice the meteor in the lower left corner.

I briefly stepped in the shot for a few seconds, pointed at the sky and walked out. I am the ghostly image on the right.

I cropped the photo slightly, performed USM and adjusted levels slightly.

I joined DPC on July 7th and I shot this photo on July 9th.

I knew the quality of this photo was not that good. And I had no plans of submitting any photos to the challenges until I looked at this one.

I was just tinkering around with some night shots and noticed the meteor in the lower left corner.

When I saw the Round challenge I thought I would submit it for others to see and not really for the competition.

I'am pleased with what votes it got though and for those that saw the photo for what is was.

Thanks;

Calvus

my camera does the same thing when i take pictures of the moon, i don't know how the folks with the big huge detailed moons in their photos did it.

is that someone's shadow on the right?

Is that your reflection? Perhaps some more cropping to remove the house and treeline, and a re-shoot to avoid the light streak(?) may have assisted the impact by impoving the composition.

The shadow on the right which looks like Pinocchio or perhaps an elephant man is distraction. Also the objects on the bottom of the frame make me wonder what they are, distracting me from the main focus of the photo.
