As a stand-alone photo it is interesting, but not stellar.

However, the title DRAWS me in... Is this his last Christmas? Is he sick? Is he dieing? He does look a little pale. Hmm... Now I'm really thinking about it.

Good job. A wonderful example of how important the title can be.

A pensive mood, makes for a pleasing image...

This does seem so sad. Was it really his last Christmas? The blur on the tree and his sad expression do seem to reflect that. Great job.

I like the shallow DOF, it really adds to this photo. The subject has an intense look to him, which leads me as the viewer wanting to know the rest of the story; what is he looking at? is it something good or bad? And IMO that is a good thing, you are making the viewer get involved. Only slight detraction to the image is the intensity of the lights on the tree and that is minor. Well done.

Another tie...figures.

Such expression on his face. YOu can feel his anguish and frustration. Whether this was indeed the last Christmas or not, you can sense something wasnt right. Very nice capture of the expression.

color on his shoulder is a little too blown out for me.

Very nice candid portrait with good DoF and framing. I like the warmth of the colours.
