 My sisters in law 10 year old son came over to the house with these shoes and I thought they would be perfect for this challenge.

Raw level adjustments, USM, magic tool select and copy red to new layer. adjusted color to low on main layer to highlight the red more. saved for web.

How is this a crowd? The main subject seems to be isolated by color rather than minimal DOF. This shot seems to miss the point of the challenge and I just don't think it is very good.

DOF isolation is barely used in this picture. The farthest set of feet is just as in focus as the middle one. Composition-wise I don't find this shot interesting, sorry.

The challenge asked for a person to be singled out in a crowd using shallow depth of field. The shallow DOF hasn't really worked has it?
