While I have to agree that you didn't meet the "singled out of a crowd" aspect of the challenge, I do understand "singled out" from a perspective that, perhaps, only we who are grandfathers can appreciate. I wish there had been a "Special Moments" challenge in which you could have entered this shot. Thanks for bringing a tear of joy to my eye.
Nice shot, but I don't think it really meets the challenge for being singled out. I think that if there was more in the background and a shallower depth of field it would have met the challenge better
Challenge details: ".....single-out a person in a crowd as your source of composition. Use minimal depth-of-field to your advantage to help isolate your subject....."
Let's pretend for a moment that 2 is a crowd, then you still don't have either of them singled out at all.
