 Taken during the "Singled-out" challenge. Of the straight people shots for this challenge, this was the best but I chose a different one for the challenge as it was just a bit off-the-wall and quirky.

I love candid photography and this is why - such characteer, such poise. Am particualarly pleased with this image as you can count the whiskers and see the pores they come from. You can see the black on black weave in the hat fabric too.

Shot at 650mm

Post production: Saturation, brightness reduction and sharpening after resize.

If this isn't going in the challenge, you must have something really great waiting for us. My only suggestion, and this is just my own taste coming in here, would be to use a little of the dodge tool on the edge of the crown of his cap. It's coming across on my monitor as blending right into the black background. I'd like to see a tiny bit of definition there. Maybe dodge a little bit under the brim to separate his dark glasses from the dark shadow across his nose.
