 Cropped. Increased brightness & contrast. Dodged the bird's face. Sharpened birds face. Increased contrast a tad more. Applied USM. Resized and added the border.

Blurred and softened background is very good. I like the bit of natural lighting hitting various spots on bird and reeds inforeground. This definitely deserves a high finish. Good Luck
