Taken in downtown Dallas. This is my cousin, who gladly posed. Not a great shot in my opinion, but it's what I have to submit.

Greetings from the Critique Club,

Hi Andy!

I already addressed my main problems with the shot in my previous comment, but I'll gladly explain more now. I think the main focus of the picture is what? Your cousin, right? Ok, let's start there. Did you want the street signs in the picture? If you did, put them ALL in the picture. If not, get them out. What about the lights across the street. Weren't they a little bright? Try moving over to your right and take a more straight shot at your model, maybe getting the lights out of the center of the picture.

I like your choice of black and white here. I wish that there was more interest and she looked more like she wanted her picture taken! :)

Good job and happy shooting. Keep up the good work and learning. You'll get there! :)

Fits the challenge. It's overexposed and blurry, and pretty grainy. Plus your subject doesn't look all that happy.

Not in focus.

If it weren't quite so blurry, this could well be a 9 shot (by my lights, anyway), but as it is, the girl is smudged and hard to focus on (with one's eyes, I mean), and the impact is lost. Great composition and choice of subjects/pose, though.

She looks bored.....thought a night on the town should be fun!

Interesting composition, but a bit grainy. A little sharper might be an improvement.

To me, the focus is off a bit. Slow speed/no tripod?

A little too soft. This looks like if clearer, it would've been a really nice pic. I'm not sure what greyscaling did for it, aside from taking away any problems there might've been with the lighting and such. Good effort

The main subject is too out of focus here.

Not good focus, too much glare from the lights in the background.

is there a significance to this particular street corner?

A faster shutter speed and something else in the photo could have added interest. 6

Nice composition and I like the subject but this isn't in focus. The glare of the light in the bottom centre is a bit strong, too.
