| Wow, I got a lot of comments about bad photoshop work. Yes, there are some artifacts from oversharpening around the top of the orange which weren't noticable on my old crappy monitor, or visible in a print. But the other things commented on were actually part of the original photo. The orange was sitting in a puddle of water, and the edge of the waterline caused an irregular transition that some people saw as bad editing. |

Greetings from the Critique Club
What a startlingly nice image of the orange section. When I saw this in competition, I scored it high, as did many of our voters.
However, now that I'm in critique mode, I've got to be a bit more objective about your image. You do have some commentors who noted the photoshop effects around the edges of your orange could use some work. This unevenness shows up loud and clear on my monitor as well. While I note you didn't prefer to mark these particular comments as helpful, they really are meant to assist you. As is this one. There is a light blue halo all around the orange. There are peculiar two-color blue changes at the right side above the mirrored segment. The blue at the bottom shows a marked color change where either erasures or some other changes in color took place. Just a little more practice with PS is likely all it'll take to make your images constant winners.
Overall, a fine image, well placed in the frame and excellent focus.
I see I've had the pleasure of critiquing another of your images recently and for sure, I'll look forward to seeing more of your work on DPC! |

| nice lighting and focus. the black line running through the center of the composition is a bit distracting. Being a Florida Alumn i'll throw you an extra point. |

| As someone told me one time..."photoshop gone bad". Would have been better to clean up the rough edges after dropping out the background. Nice colors though..great contrast. |

| this is a very poor photoshop work, it's way over sharpened, and that blue line on the right should have been cloned out. |

| I'm getting a cut-and-past effect around the edges of the orange, especially at the lower portion and the right of the frame. It is a strong composition though. |

| I really like the concept and the complimentary colours. It looks to me that this has ben over-processed, based on the strange outline around the orange. JMO. |

By utilizing the mirror technique, Abdul was able to sell a quarter an orange for a half orange price.
