some chaine maille, back-lit by one head (at 1/2 EV, positioned behind and a bit above the chain) of my MT-24EX twin-lite; slightly front-lit as well by the other head (at 1/64 EV, and aimed mostly away).

Contrast, sharpness, levels, and straightness tweaked in iphoto, then cropped.

Why wasn't this taken and entered into patterns or even shapes. It is still a great image.....

You are one of the few photographers on this site that, when doing a geometric image like this, seems to be able to make it true. I can't stand when people try to do this sort of shot without it being square, balanced, and centered nicely. A for attention to detail!

you cut your chain links with snips use a dremel for cleaner edges and better closure of the rings
also image does not appear to be back lit
