This is a very interesting shot. At first glance, it might seem overly busy, but somehow, that works in this image. Perhaps it is because the 'busyness' is in the many reflections, and those reflections are so different than the quaint, wooden scene of the pubfront. But I feel drawn into the image nicely, taking it all in and studying the various details. Perhaps it has something to do with the human 'voyeristic' nature. I like how you've centered the doorway, and how the one door is open and inviting. A good composition, it plays on the symmetry of the scene nicely. And then the whimsical reflections provide an interesting counterpoint to this symmetry. Focus and color management look pretty good. My only complaint (and it would be minor) is that there seems to be just a slight 'flatness' or drabby feeling, but just slight. Maybe due to the weather/lighting condition at the time of the shot. Maybe a little tweaking in processing, or even attempting a reshoot under different lighting to get a real 'pop' out of it? Don't get me wrong, this is a very slight flaw, and I quite like the photo :-) I just see potential to be an even stronger presentation. Very nice job! |
