I think this concept would have been better served with a deeper depth of field. Compose such that the color divisions are located at the corners

Double border is unattractive. The uneven color of the red/orange background, along with the fuzziness of the midpoint is distracting. The use of color is very nice, tho having the balls match the backgrounds a bit more would boost the impact. I really like the texture on the balls.
