This is a very good photo, technically well done, and more important, it tells a story, it conveys some feelings. It deserves a better placement, but, I guess that's what my eyes judge.
Good luck in future challenges.

I was going to call this "Obsessed City Worker", but thought that title was too literal. Its funny how people need a title to make them understand how the image relates to the challenge.
I dont like stories with endings.

Love it. Great ambient light. My only 10.

Good composition - I like the off-center woman framed by the drapes and the folios on the wall. The repeating pattern really draws attention to the woman; the simplicity makes it quite effective. -Jennifer

nice use of rule of thirds
could be more authentic if the person was really working
good job

i think the patterns in this are great. i could do without the curtains. however, i don't really see it for this challenge.

Brilliant interpretation and very well done photo, and as my wife pointed out, it looks straight out of National Geographic! - 9

simple and very effective..

I like the idea. I also like that only the lady has color, while the rest of the photo is almost monochrome. Smart framing.

Doesn't seem to really convey "city life."
01/06/2006 05:44:41 PM
very repetitive..lol i would hate a workspace like this.. the angle against the wall on the left gives it nice depth..
01/06/2006 03:14:57 PM
city life? O life in the cabinet?
01/06/2006 03:01:19 PM
Good exposure, but the lady looks way too stiff and out of place - disassociated with the room.

Interesting profusion and geometrical regularity of the boxes but don't see the city here
01/06/2006 12:15:40 PM
Im not seeing city life in this shot. other then that i like the side lighting and the reflection of the table.

What a remarkable photograph! Obviously, the many shelves of identical files look bizarre, especially when framed by the strangely knotted curtains. But the most interesting element is the lady, not working with her single selected file, but instead sitting off to one side and looking timidly directly at the camera. She does not look at home here. The total effect is certainly unusual, even a bit disturbing, and probably for that reason very effective, too. I suppose it must also be given credit for being a legitimate depiction of city life, although that's certainly not what it appears to be about, unless you are attempting a world's record for obscure allegory. 7.

i like her expression and the placement of the subject with the curtains on each side. cool title. not sure how well it fits the challenge but i do like the shot

This could be anywhere, doesn't convey city.
01/05/2006 09:06:21 AM
nice photo! I just can't imagine what work she's doing...
01/05/2006 01:13:42 AM
Like the soft natural lighting coming in from a window, image doesn't say much but I found it rather interesting..

Composition is ok. The subject matter could have been better. The image quality is ok. - 5

I find this so intriguing...I keep wondering what this room is...what are all of those books...the haphazard type of curtains at the large entrance and seemingly single light source this woman must work by...very interesting...I like this alot.
01/04/2006 04:33:36 PM
Interesting, different subject, well composed.
01/04/2006 03:15:44 PM
I like the composition but the lighing is a bit harsh right by the curtin knot its very blown out and there are very dark shadows on her face.
01/04/2006 03:00:12 PM
This is a nice pic. Talk about "paperless office!"
Sorry, it really doesn't spell "city life" to me, though.
01/04/2006 10:54:28 AM
this is very cool.. not so much of an urban feel but definitely eye grabbing!
01/04/2006 08:51:51 AM
Good composition.
01/04/2006 08:51:43 AM
interesting photo that leaves me with lots of questions
01/04/2006 08:40:19 AM
Exactly...work space...where is the city life?
01/04/2006 02:14:27 AM
Where's the citylife?
