tremendous positioning of the shell. just the right amount of light and shadow. ghostlike quality, adds depth, mystery.

A very nice capture. Bumping up.

Great shot, well done! 9 :)

Nice shot, contrast and exposure well done, but almost wish the whole shell was in focus, it is not like there is a distracting background where you would need a shallow dof.

The border is too big. Good photo overall.

I absolutely love the DOF and the detail you have preserved here. Possibly the strongest entry in the challenge in terms of meeting the challenge. Subtle colors strengthen the image. Great job. Among my top picks.

I like your frame, DOF is good, Something about the placement of the shell is off to me, but i'm not sure what. Possibly it would look more complete if the shell was cropped slightly at the bottom. I think our eyes are used to seeing a base either real or implied under an object. JMO.

very cool - love the capture 8 - the boarder does nothing for the pic either way. It does not distract nor does it add (humble opinion of course).

i would have liked a tiny bit more contrast between the top of the shell and the background

nice

I like what you've done. It's a bit overexposed a couple of places.
01/05/2006 11:21:48 AM
I would like to see more depth of field on this one so that more of the shell was in focus. Otherwise a strong image.

The focus is too soft for me.
01/05/2006 10:16:35 AM
Beautiful. It has a tiny bit of softness - probably due to the bright light. This is stunning. The shallow DOF is good too. Great detailing of the intricacies of the shell. This may be my fav of the challenge. 9

Stuff that white space to the right - it really would stand cropped close, no? You've let me down there because I love this pic apart from that. Nature is amazing isn't it (my God we are part of nature too!)
