personally, I loved the horizontal lines of the fences and the vertical lines of the trees. Other elements, like the fence, also have strong horizontals and/or verticals. Altogether it is like a grid from which this creature emerges. I gave it a 10.

Greetings from the Critique club. After spending some time reviewing your photo I have some thoughts to share. With meeting the challenge shapes, I think you have met it. The horse is a shape in its purest form.

Some things to improve the image. The fence is distracting and seems to grab some of the focus. The Shape (horse) isnt sharp like the DPC voters seem to need for higher scoring images. The background is a bit distracting and takes focus off the horse. The image is also a little dark and that likely cost you some higher votes. If possible the same shot out in a more open field, without the fence so noticeable would have scored higher. Good luck in future challenges.

Good capture, pic seems a little dark, detail doesn't stand out.

photo is amazing, but not sure if it's true to the subject

It's a shame his lines are broken by the fence; this would be a great deal more striking as a full silhouette. The truck behind her is a wee bit distracting as well. Still, a nice image, and a good idea. 6.

Nice pic I just find the subject too dark. Iknow it is tough to provide artificial light but more would have been better

The backdrop and fence distracts.

Lovely image, though a lighter background to define the head would have been perfect.

A little too much grain for my taste.. and not what I would consider acceptable for a shape challenge. I think people were looking for a geometric shape instead of a physical condition. Besides, the horse looks a bit fat.
