Should have scored higher in the challenge. great picture. Had a 10 from me and a favorite going back to it.

Interesting use of shallow DoF! That in itself gives it a different perspective. Like it.

I think I would have prefered the reverse of this - the soft focus going off the top

Really nice capture, color and contrast very good. I wonder if it would have had more impact if the whole image was in focus. I do not see the need for the shallow depth of field here, the whole "Pattern" should be in focus.

Very clever concept, nice color. I would have taken a bit more off the bottom of the frame.

I love the colors and the patterns that almost continue from the shell. the only thing I personally would have liked a little bit more was have just a hair more focus leading into the shell. 10

I like the concept and it fulfills the challenge well. IMO though, I might have preferred less DOF. I think the "pattern" would have popped more if it were sharp, good job!

Elegant idea and nice color. Less out-of-focus foreground and less (exactly) vertical composition might help.

Did you try any shots of this setup with the lines going diagonally? May not have been as easy to get the shallow DOF you have here, but I think it may have worked a little better than the vertical lines? Nice color in the shell and detail in the sand.

excellent colour, composition, subject. Perhaps another f stop would have cleared up a little more of the foreground. IMHO there's a little too much DOF in the foreground. But I do like this shot

7 - Good idea, nice colors, good pattern. Criticism; perhaps a crop variation or more 'width' may have given this a little extra in my opinion, not sure.

Great colors. I think I’d have cropped a little tighter & kept only that that was in focus – or – modified the aperture to get greater DOF. Best of luck to you.

good idea, a little longer DOF and I would have gone higher. Still a 7

Very nice but the blurred areas ruins this for me. This shot really calls for infinite DOF.

Very cool!
