 Don't bother critiquing the photo, I know it's lousy. I only uploaded this to add it to a forum thread about dinners.
This is a raclette, our current special occasion feast.
The top plate is used to cook meat and vegetables, and the little pans are for melting slices of cheese in the lower section under the heating element. The cheese is then traditionally poured onto boiled potatoes which you eat together with the goodies you cooked on the top.

thats awesome! i've been to a restaurant where you cook your own food like this and it was great.
