This is one of my last minute entries. I just received an Canon 550 EX flash and had to play with it a little.

After lining up "my men" for a while I shot the picture, converted it from RAW, changed the contrast, played with curves and saturation, resized, USM and saved.

I wish the out of focus queen was in front of the king to get a better feel of SDOF.

Hm, this image a bit haunting to me and I like it very much. Pawns and bishop look almost like ghosts or X-Rays of their true selves. I think that adding a little more light from above would've helped this image.

Place the leader between the other pieces in focus... would have been better.

6 - Nice and simple. Good 'ghostly' effects on the 'far pieces'. Criticism; difficult, perhaps a little more space at the top, and a slightly wider view to 'see' more of those 'ghostly pieces' and a fraction sharper on 'the king', may have all made this even better in my opinion.

I feel like there should be more space at the top...Nice subject for DOF...the frosted glass looks mystical. Something to keep in mind for future challenges.
