Nicely composed. It almost feels desaturated which gives it a nice timeless quality. I would love to have taken this one. It appeals to my personal aesthetic.

the tone and color of the wood are attractive. DOF seems to be a secondary element to the picture; the sharpness of the reflection is not particularly important. i think the more difficult technical achievement would have been to keep the reflection in crisp focus, which is why I think this is a poor choice of submission for this challenge. to me, this image does not reflect thoughtful, deliberate control over depth of field.

I like the photo overall though I feel it might be a litle dar and I am struggling with the dof portion. Interesting shot.

I like it, maybe some flash to bring it out a bit?

6 - Like this. Size doesn't do it justice I am sure. Criticism; difficult, especially given the size, but perhaps sacrificing the frame to get more of the door/frame in may have helped. Also difficult to discern, but perhaps slightly sharper too, not sure, but the 'soft' effect is also nice. The main thing that appeals to me in this shot is the white 'DOF' 'behind the door' that is complemented by the snow/ice on the inner frame and contrasted by the iron(?) grill/bars/pattern, and the overall coloring, which is very nice and simple. The frame does help I think, but again, for 'here'/this medium, the extra pixels used to show your shot may have helped. edit:typo
