This is a macro of an old mossy tree near our campsite. I took this shot as we were packing up today, this is a crop of a macro/perspective shot that had too small of a DOF.

Thanks for all the comments, I might have done better submitting the original, but I didn't like the DOF. Oh well. Here is a link to the original: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=26918

The bug's point of view works wonders here. Fantastic colors and textures!

Nice textures and DOF in this one. This might be good in B&W

A unique take on the challenge, and a very effective one, though I own that I might not have realized it was bark without the title. I like the focus, the way only the nearest parts of the bark are kept crisp.

very nice macro. I like the detail you have captured, and your perspective makes me think of the side of a great untouched mountain.

Good colors. Pin sharp. Subject is not the most compelling, but not bad - 7

Interesting the way you placed the in focus portion at the bottom rather than having it traditionaly centrally located. If you hadn\'t said it was bark I might not have known. 4

This texture is amazing. Without the title, I wouldn't have guessed at the scale of this. It could be gigantic, mountain-sized hunks we're looking at. Awesome.

I like the colors and the DOF is great also, i personally feel the lighting could be a little bit stronger, but this still works very well.....

My eyes go straight to the centre of this photo, which is unfortunate as that's the part that's missing the most clarity (ie out of focus and a little dark compared to the rest of the shot). Its a really nice shot apart from that minor detail
