Entering an image this small into a challenge is a sure way to get lowballed by a lot of voters. It looks like you did a longer exposure of some nice lights. The shot has some really interesting colors. The downside of this kind of shot is it looks like almost no effort was put into it, because we don't always know if the motion was supposed to be there or not. Often it's assumed that it's not supposed to be there and it's voted down. One thing you really might want to do is turn of the date on your camera. That's something you'll never find in "artistic" photography, and this is mostly an artistic website. If that's how you wanted it to come out, good work. For the next challenge, I would really suggest using an image with one dimention at least 600 pixels long.

Sorry for your low finishing position. I found your entry to be very beautiful. I gave you a 10.

I'm sure there are some folks who like the abstract nature of this... I find it a bit abrasive, I'm afraid. The date stamp ain't helpin' either... :(

Interested to know why you liked this enough to enter it into a competition. The tiny image and datestamp are real no-nos here IMO.

too busy, too noisy and what is it?

The camera shake does not work for me. The image is also a little small.

Looks like a hip place to dig at four AM. Great abstract image. 9

To small to really see what's going on

Good luck in your future challenges.

this photograph is one of the worst i dont think you put a lot of effort at all in this photo because the time you took it even remains on the photograph.......

I would encourage you to upload larger images. Make your longest dimension the full 640 pixels allowed (instead of the 260 in this case). This will let folks see the details in the photo which will help them appreciate it better.

Wow, this image is so small and blurry, it is hard to tell what it is.

check your settings time stamps always detract from photos

This is too blurry, too small and you should turn the date stamp off so it is not on your photos :)
12/15/2005 03:58:15 PM
yes... those sure are colors. whoops theres a date stamp in the bottom right, whoops the pictures tiny, whoops it doesn't relate to 4 or 5 am, whoops BOO, whooops two

i am quite sure you are getting hammered with a very low score. don't take it personally--everybody has to start somewhere. if you really want to learn how to take better pictures, dpc is a great place to start. read the suggested tutorials, ask questions, and DON'T QUIT! it can be frustrating, but it can also be very rewarding and fun!

Nice colours but without knowing what it is makes it lack some interest
12/14/2005 06:04:31 PM
For me, this would have better impact if a bit larger. Also, too bad about the date in the lower right hand corner.
12/14/2005 03:20:40 PM
Small, and the date in the corner hould be taken out.
12/14/2005 11:53:05 AM
Hmm, blurred, too small, what is "Dec 7 2005" doing in the image?
12/14/2005 11:42:35 AM
try to aim closer to the max than the min in size. This is too small to tell for sure, but it appaers there is motion blur problems.
12/14/2005 09:17:29 AM
picture is too small. i'm sure this was an attempt at time release but it's just not apparent what is going on. 1
