This is an intensely personal entry for me, and I thought about not entering it at all, because if it ends up being reduced from a powerful emotional moment to a score of 4.1 and fifteen "the petal bent over is distracting"/"Don't see how this meets challenge" comments I may have to throw myself off a bridge.
Speaking of "meets challenge":
We learned too late that doctors are people prone to mistakes (and sometimes ulterior motives) and that we shouldn't be too blindly trusting when we hand over to them the care of people we love.
We waited until too late to take good pictures of our ill baby, and so we only have about six, all with us in full hospital gear and her full of tubes.
Corrective surgery was scheduled for three months of age. Too late for Natalie, as she died at the age of nine weeks. Had she lived, this month she would have had her eighth birthday.

I desaturated reds, magentas, and yellows just a bit -- the pink ribbon was distractingly vivid. Cropped, and resized. |

| not sure about the ribbon, but I like the choice of flower and shadows create interest. I also like the grave you chose. cross adds to it |

A very pretty twist on the normal flower pictures! I like that you were bold enough to attempt to photograph the essence of death.
