Yep, I just knew this had to be around the GSMNP somewhere. Don't you just love those water worn stones? I had the "misfortune" of going for a bit of a swim getting one of these shots. You know the picnic area in Cades Cove, off to the left before the main visitors center? There are some beautiful creek/river areas at the back, was getting some nice pictures perched upon a large stone in the middle of the water, that next stone sure seemed steady...WHOOPS! That sucker shifted and in I went. It was early spring so the creek was full and COLD! I had a heck of a time getting up, I was worried about my camera and that muck at the bottom sure is slippery...I sure learned my lesson that day!

Thanks Kel. A couple of miles up on the road between Townsend and Cades Coves you'll see a stream coming from the left. There is a place for 3 or 4 vehicles to park (on the left) just before you cross the bridge. A slim trail follows the stream. This is where the photo was shot.
