Challenge: Too Late (Basic Editing III)

Aperture: f/2.8

The very minute entire-image post processing done was a crop, a clarify, small amount of contrast, and I added a small frame.

I had a good size pumpkin left over from my Thanksgiving Day decor. It was preserved from being outside, and was in great condition for carving, so I had this idea.

I freehanded the "too late" carving using the double "o" for eyes to give it a "boo!" effect. (Probably should have entilted it "Boo Late" instead of "Too Late" but then some wouldn't have "gotten it", I don't think.)

I took the pumpkin outside and perched it between two large branches in my backyard after it got dark. I happened to have a yellow flashlight, which matched the inside color so it is barely visible in the shot. I positioned the flashlight so it shined up mostly through the eyes to emphasize them. I took about 65 shots, and finally got my "mediocre" camera to get a decent shot that I liked and where basic editing was able to be followed, whereas it was advanced editing in the original pumpkin challenge this past October.

It took me quite a while to get this shot because my camera has 3 dead pixels in the lense, and normally night-shots bring them out quite distinctly. Thankfully, I found maybe 3 shots where the dead pixels were found to be somewhere within the light of the pumpkin carving and didn't show. WHEW!

As a side note - I had done an actual carving of a pumpkin for Halloween and took many shots of it, but found this site after the fact and took photos of it outside of the time frame for the great pumpkin carving challenge. So this challenge of "too late" was one I was greatful for. It allowed me to enter a carving anyway! :)

Thank you ahead of time for those that liked it - voted and commented. This was an all day event between carving and shooting. Then again, I do enjoy a challenge! :)
