My cat wondering what on earth I am doing! I was just following this particular cat around outside taking shots when I could and came up with this doozy!
Hardly any editing just a little touch of contrast and that is it!

I think this photograph with proper post processing could have scored much higher. I am going to spend 10 15 minutes with it and lets see if anything could be improved.

Edit: okey I spent 10 minutes with it, and this is what I could come up with. [thumb]621429[/thumb]

have a look.

What were voters thinking? This deserves a much better shot then 5.5
The color is spot on. The blue background is perfect. My only suggestion is to try to be mindful of whats in the background, the smaller blurred objects in the background are a minor distraction. Overall though-great capture, love it.

Am I crazy? This picture is really amazing and 5.5 is just a slap in the face. I can't even believe the voting here! It's probably because you just cut off the ear, but there are so many other redeeming qualities. I liked it, and that's what matters ;)

Excellent shot, great clarity where you need it and excellent colour for background. The only suggestion I can offer is to try a frame. This may remove some of the niggles about cutting the ear off.
Congratulations on the draw.
As for the name, our labrador is called Lace and the 19 year old tabby is called Willow. Antipodeans always seem to get things upside down!!!!!! haha??????

I can't believe I never commented on this. Really a GREAT close up and not typical - I like the tilt of it. Lovely image. What a pretty kitty!

7 - Very good. Looks like a familiar shot but likely just the 'tabby effect'. Criticism; the cropped ear(s) are noticeable, but this also works as is in my opinion, maybe some 'fine tuning' with it (zoomed/cropped tighter or ears included (depending what you had to work with obviously)), may have made this better in my opinion. Like the vivid color in the eyes and the seemingly horizontal 'patterned reflection' adds an off-setting element to this too. Nice focus on the brow and eyes, like the whiskers' contrast, difficult but with the nose and whiskers even sharper may have made this even better - but likely difficult to get 'it all' in good focus so not sure. Background blue is nice and enhances those eyes.
