 Levels->greyscale->green/blue industrial looking filter->sharpen
These washers and fasteners looked to me to be the very essence of industry. They reminded me of the quiet labour and tradesmen, who are the actual pillars of industry and with the select focus, they are all grouped as one, and almost dismissed. I reintroduced the blue/green filter because thats how they looked when I shot this image. I really hoped the dark shadows and slow disappearance of the subject would convey the ominous feelings of being watched from behind or having no control. It should feel cold but also promising. It worked for me, I hope it works for you.

This is a good thought, although I'm not sure washers and bolts really represent industrial. Dark in the upper left and bottom right corners.

the green tones and the light reflection balamces the dark background and shadows.
