Well, in a bout of whether to submit my massive collection of manga (Japanese!comics), or my moderate amount of anime figurines, I figure I'd go with the collection that was easier to photograph in one sitting? Haha.

Taken on top my bookshelf of some of my manga, where they always stand, so I didn't remove them from their 'home.' Too lazy to move and then having to reassemble them. :/

Post processing: curves, selective color, unsharp mask, gaussian blur, 1px border.

it seems like there are quite a few interesting pieces in your collection. i wonder how they could have been arranged to bring greater visual interest to the photo?

the background is a bit distracting and there is no main focus to this image, next time try shooting from a differnt angel or have a tighter frame

Ok, this is what I see.

Great color, blacks and whites good, crisp, however....

Staged, uninteresting concept, lighting flat, curtan distracting, dof needs work, crop needs work, overall not very interesting.

With all this subject matter, you could of created a story, but instead I see an Ebay sale.

Nice collection. This pic could have had a lot more potential if you shot it in front of a solid background, like just the wall. The dolls are so colorful l that the soild backdrop and tighter crop could have helped a lot, making it less like a snap shot.

You have a nice collection, but the presentation and lighting needs some work. I'd straighten the curtain in the background and try and take the picture with available light, not a flash.

A great collection and well laid out. Bumping up.

The light curtain in the background is quite distracting. It seems that you used a flash which has produced hotspots on some of the figures and dark shadows on the wall behind. A softer light would have been better.

shame about the background with the curtain folds

3 - Criticism; there was/is the potential to be much more creative here in my opinion. The lighting, focal points, angle, background, etc - even 'staging' the characters here, could have made this much more 'interesting' and added a bit of 'depth'.
