Curves were applied to enhance brightness and contrast. Sky region was selectively saturated to better bring out blues. Mars was selectively saturated. Masked Curves used to dodge & burn edges of frame to better focus attention on telescope and sky.

Photo was taken during a private evening observation with comet hunter/discoverer Don Machholz and others at the Clark Telescope at Lowell Observatory. Additional photos and story can be found at:

Great exposer, the sky looks perfect. It almost looks like the larger object in the sky must be mars.

With that telescope there, you didn't show us some far off nebula??? Oh, saving that for best of 2005, maybe? :-) Nice shot, at any rate.
