 I have been planning to do the lightning in a jar bit for a while and just haven't. Took me about half an hour to find the power cord for my toy and almost 40 shots to get 4 that were decent, but I am happy with the results.

It is called Lightning Fury. It was sold by Radio Shack about 15 years ago. it is similar to a plasma ball, except the light is white. You can adjust the intensity and the scatter so that you get streaks like this or a more staticy effect. Mostly, it was something to take pictures of when I was looking for inspiration. Hope you like it.

I like the colors of this...very subtle. It's a very neat picture to look at. Great leading lines, at first I looked at the top and then followed down to the finger, then I realized what I was looking at. Good work.
