There she was at the Palo Alto Baylands Bird Refuge.

Crop, Levels, shadows/highlights, smart sharpen.
I handheld the 50-500 Sigma on this one and used my car as a blind. Focal length was 191.0mm

Like this shot, great image quality and very fitting for the challenge. Only to nitpick, there is a straw in the bottom right corner that is out of focus but still very distracting but no spot editing of course, I assume you would have removed if you had the option. 7 from me.

8 - Very good meet of the Challenge. Good coloring. Criticism; not much, maybe a different 'composition'/placing/crop, not sure. Maybe, a small frame, though not sure on that.

in habitat indeed! From this angle, one can certainly see why the ring-neck pheasant is colored as it is. Great picture for this challenge.
