This is a very typical Venetian scene. Apart from walking, there is only one way to get around the city core of Venice, and that is by boat. Gondolas are for tourists and special occasions. Little boats like these are used as cars would be in other cities. Public transit consists of water busses, called vaporettos. And, of course, since it is made up of 100 islands, Venice is a city of bridges--and on a nice day, there are reflections along each water street and under every bridge.

Very nice image. Yes, I imagine the available reflection shots available would be enough to overwhelm the first time visitor (photographer anyway). I didn't know that boats, such as you mention in your notes, are used there. The one in the foreground has a darn good sized outboard on it!

Anyway...like the shot. Thanks for sharing the details. ;^)
