This is the old Jesuit church in Venice. Venice tends to be a bit misty, probably due to a combination of the water all around its 100 islands and smog, which is why some parts of the image seem lost in mist. The church is enormous, as we can see tell by comparing its size to that of the people in fron of it, who seem no bigger than dots. To me, this massive building with its delicate carvings and white marble, its proximity to the sea and boats, is a wonderful example of the magnificence of Venice.
