Hiking Season has arrived!

First backpack of the season, this is from my campsite on a red rock shelf about 10 feet above the creek. This was taken before sunrise hit the canyon. It was a brisk 40 degrees and I got out of my warm sleeping bag to take this!

I love that my eye is drawn to the rocks in the stream.

Perfect lighting. Similiar places are poorly lit very often. This is not the case with yours...10

Great composition and scenery. I love this picture. If there is one thing I can think of for improvement it would be to play with the colors in Photoshop to slightly add some intensity to the red color range. That would be a definite 10 after my taste with those green trees against red rocks. Right now they look slightly pale. Still a great rating though ;)

Yeah, that's a pretty cool happy place. But now that you've showed it you're going to have to share it.

very nice image, although i feel crowed when I look at the photo. I think that is just the over all feeling I get. Could be different for someone else :). I really like contrasts between the greens and reds.

looks like Utah!
for a landscape shot, I generally feel that the viewer should have a longer line of sight - there should be objects visible in the distance visible. landscapes should not have a "closed in" feeling - they should be open and expansive.

the slow shutter speed is nice, the soft water always adds to a picture, the color is good but the shot is a little close, all bunche in a frame, if this were wider it would be much better, still a good shot.
