Cindy & I went to the nature center again this past Fri, and it wasn't until halfway through our hike that I remembered one of the challenges was landscapes - which I take as a good thing, because I guess the obsession is wearing off....

I had several shots that I liked, and I was torn between this and one other one. I hope this doesn't get lost among the numerous pictures of autumn trees that are sure to be in the challenge.

Spring and Fall
to a young child
- Gerard Manley Hopkins

MÁRGARÉT, áre you gríeving
Over Goldengrove unleaving?
Leáves, líke the things of man, you
With your fresh thoughts care for, can you?
Áh! ás the heart grows older
It will come to such sights colder
By and by, nor spare a sigh
Though worlds of wanwood leafmeal lie;
And yet you wíll weep and know why.
Now no matter, child, the name:
Sórrow’s spríngs áre the same.
Nor mouth had, no nor mind, expressed
What heart heard of, ghost guessed:
It ís the blight man was born for,
It is Margaret you mourn for.

Desperately underscored! I had thought this would be top 20 at least. It was one of my highest rated photos. Such is the way of DPC!

Nice colors, If you could use a polarizer, the sky would look more blue and add a lot of contrast to the yellow of leaves.. 7
