Very interesting shot and definately fits the challenge. I agree it would probably look a little better in black and white. For fun it would be interesting to see what it would look like with some added noise. I would also suggest cropping off a little on the right to make the fence(?) less centered.

Since the colors don't do much for this picture, I would think B&W to go for the texture. You have nice textures in the rubble and the rebar makes a nice pattern against the sky. The bush also hurts your image because it's a muddy green/black chunk of no detail. Dark green like evergreens is really hard to photograph well. I would have recomposed to remove the bush. I'm guessing you took this on the fly because of the truck so you probably didn't have time to think about this stuff.

Focus and DOF is nice. So much sky in the picture is never really good blown out. Either expose for the sky (and see if you can get away with it on the ground objects), or recompose so the sky isn't as dominant.

I guess some people did not get the title. I know that you have septic trucks in California, but how many times do they drive by a completly blown up building. Additionally WHY do you think someone would need a septic truck at the side of a blown up building.

Anyway this was my first post and it is supposed to be educational and it was. I want to thank my fans that voted 10 (both of you), I know that you got it.

I don't get the title, but my wife is always telling me I'm pretty dense. One of the better photos so far though.

no, we've got septic waste tanks in california, too. " )
interesting composition with the twisted metal going up the center. like the perforated bricks with their spotty effect, too.
