Challenge: Self-Portrait Revisited (Classic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D1X
Location: My Bathroom in Honolulu, HI.
Date: Jun 16, 2003
Aperture: F10
ISO: 250
Shutter: 15 seconds
Galleries: Abstract, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Jun 17, 2003

There wasn't too much to this. I was playing with multiple exposures and so this was actually just taken as a practice shot. This was a 15 second exposure in the dark of my bathroom with one flash that I was holding in my hand, which created the shadows. After that, I made it negative in curves in Photoshop.

Part of me feels like the only thing really making this photo interesting is the neg-art colors, but even if it is only the colors that make it more than just average, I do like it. The look on your face is very intense and very powerful. I like the DOF so that your hand is blury but your face is in sharp focus. 8. Sorry if this comment is very contradictory ;-)

the inversion makes you look plastic.. and I wonder why you chose to invert the image. You seem to be grasping for something? this is an interesting image to view.

the action in this photo is neat and I like that negatized image. Interesting.

I like what you're doing here, but what loses you points is that this is such a STRONG gesture and I'd like to see you looking at the camera (maybe menacingly!) instead of at the monitor or wherever you're looking. That's what would make the difference for me on this.

I like your expression and pose a lot, however I wish the background wasn't quite so washed out.
