While this isn't quite what I was trying to do, I still like it. I would have liked it more if the ice had not been as cloudy. I will try this some more to see if there is a way to get a more clear block of ice.

A note on the crop. I don't personally like the square crop. On this image, every way I tried to crop this with a 2:3 ratio or 4:5 ratio, I escaped and tried again.

The high ISO was a leftover from trying to do in-camera grain. Oops!!!

The arangments of the leaves looks almost unnatural. I would suggest using fewer leaves to decrease the image size and the business of the image. It has a nice feel to it, just not enough to suggest frozen in time but perhaps thats due to the image size verses the viewers screen size. The white from the ice is also very distracting and I find it takes away from the color of the leaves. To get the water/ice a little more clear try using warm or hot water. I find this tends to get the white out of the ice. The frozen bubbles on the leaves very well done, not to mention crisp and this gives a sense of waiting for them to surface which draws the eyes deeper into the photo IMO. Altho I'm not fond of the image grain, in this photo it adds to the feelings or sense of being cold/frozen and is a nice touch. I really like the cracks in the ice that crosses the leaves. I think it adds a natural aspect to the ice that may not otherwise have been there. Well done and keep up the good work.

7 - Good idea. Criticism; especially for the Challenge, would like to have been able to discern more 'transparency', 'glass like' of the ice, but difficult to do I imagine. Nice colors and nice composition, but I do wonder whether a little more space on the left may have made it better, not sure.

Nice frozen leaf shot. I like the colors in the photo. The black border is a bit strong, I wonder how it would look if you chose a color from one of the darker leaves instead?

Creative, but it winds up not translating to picture too well. I think it winds up looking too artificial with the arrangement of the leaves.

oh hahah i am dense i thought for a second you had put leaves in a bubble bath. Did you freeze these or were the au naturel?

a nicely composed shot. the thin layer of ice on the leaves adds interest, and it's interesting to see how far into the ice one can see as well. great colors from the leaves. i wish that the top layer of ice would have been more transparent on the top right leaf...the solidity of the ice in that spot is a wee bit distracting for me.

Cool image--is that frosted ice? This may be picky, but I'd prefer not to see the leaves arranged in a circle, but in a more natural arrrangement or scattered-- very good capture.
