This is one where I'm just left not thinking too much good or bad. I think, ultimately, you did as much as you could with the subject, but it doesn't get you where you want to go.
the pool divider directs my eye away from the submerged swimmer...i think this would be a stronger image without the pool divider, and with a closer shot of the swimmer.
I like the idea. The rope in the foreground is so strong to my eyes, that it becomes the main focal point and the swimmer is secondary. I wish it was the other way around, but again, creative idea.
