I agree with all that commented...the focus neededto be at the top or much more DOF.

If the focus would've been at the top of the stairs, this would've done very well.

This is a nice picture and a great concept, I just feel a sharper focus on the near railing (as opposed to the florr below) would have looked nice. But its still an excellent shot, good luck with it.

It took me a bit to figure out what this was. I think including more of the bottom of the stairwell would make this a better shot.

Okay, let me take a wild guess: you tried to pull the attention to the floor downstairs by focusing on it, and making it, by the unusual composition the off-centered object, right? Well... I must admit that the large blurry foreground makes it a little unconfortable for me to look at the image, but certainly not less interesting. It's a very original approach on the stairs-theme, and it gives me a 'special FX-feel'. Welldone!!

i love the composition, but would have preferred the focus be on the foreground rather than the floors below. either that or all in focus with a wider lens. the blur is a bit distracting. -Pedro

May have been a bit stronger had the foreground been a little sharper. But if you're falling through several flights of stairs, it's probably hard to concentrate on that :)

Its a good idea, but if it were more sharp it would look better, also maybe a wider angle lens would have improved the photo, 7
