This is Mickey... he's a Firebellied Toad... and a wild one! I have caught him escaping more than once in my dorm room.
He enjoys a sheltered life from the many toxins he can take in through his skin, which also come from chlorine and other chemicals you find in tap water. He, and his cage mates, Minnie, Frick, Frack and a green tree frog named Moishe all receive bottled water.
I did this setup in my dorm room, and I only got in about 8 pictures in all - I realized that the water was too cold, and Mickey wasn't doing well in it, so I decided not to torture him anymore. This is not what I invisioned, but it works. I also can not hold Mickey for an extended time because the oils in my hands can effect him, and also he is toxic, I have to be careful if I have any open cuts or sores, and also have to make sure I wash my hands right after holding him.
The blue in the background is the recycle bin in my room... lighting was a simple desk light. I used a micro 105mm Nikkor old manual lens and had it on self timer...
Post processing. Sharpening tool, auto color (I was happy with the brightness), crop and resize, sharpening tool.

| Wow! Great picture, very vivid colors all around. I love frogs (as long as I don't have to hold them) so I had to comment on this one. Good use of space, nice details, crisp focus. Nicely done. |
