A Sunday morning drive through Sanford, Florida which is, after decades of neglect, going through a massive rebuilding. Came across this abdoned bulding...which I though was charming.
Adjustments to tone, shadow and lighting. Selective desats and added grain (for challenge sake).

Greetings from the Critique Club.

This building is indeed an interesting one, especially the wooden doors (which I personally think would have made a more interesting subject than the entire building). I don't know if the bricks around the doors are really gray or whether that is where you selective desaturated the photo, but I like it. I do think that there might be a better point of view; the building to the left is not nearly as charming, and the end of the alley even less so. The soft focus and grain give the building a feeling of fantasy, which goes with your title but isn't really the character I see in the building; it's just hard to imagine someone from a fairy tale living or working here. To me, the building's charm comes from the weathered textures, which I wish had been brought out more.

Interesting alley. I like the wood dors and the texture in the buildings. The composition leads the eye to the end of the alley which, unfortunately, is a disappointing finish. Wonder what it would have been like if you'd taken the picture from a few feet to the left allowing the alley to dissolve into black...?

i think this image is hurt by being grainy in color (would look great grainy in sepia or B&W) but in color i can just tell this would be so much more dynamic with out the grain, or at least less grain...

i think u didn't over do it here u just picked the wrong tone to show it in....6
