Hummingbird Moth captured in my wife's garden. I cropped it for a better effect. Focal length was at 72mm (432mm film equivalent). I though it was pretty cool how you could see the proboscis of the moth uncurled and getting the nectar of the forget –me-not flower. The proboscis stays curled up like a garden hose until it approaches the flower, then it uncurls and dips deep into the flower for the nectar. The Hummingbird Moth reaches a length of up to two inches.
