The strong grain and contrast makes this image for me. The image seems to be built around the grain rather than simply adding it as an after thought.

Love the grain in the shoulder, would of preferred a tighter shot on the shoulder and hair because of this.

Good composition...... am assuming by format, minor or no crop from the original - I might like it a little tighter on top, as I see it as I write, & slightly on the right side, but certianly this is very effective. Background and black dress merge to bind the figure 2d in this space.
