I put my 6 month old dog (tosca) over a white sheet in my garden (daylight). I take into account her black snout so the rest get a little overexposed as she is entirely white (she's not as white as the sheet, just a little more yellowish) but the sun light was so intense that the whites merge all in one.
In photoshop I even adjust the levels because the picture was a little darker for what I meant!
Other minor adjustments, clone 2 or 3 litle flies and adjust a little the color balance to avoid the yellowish shadows.

Sometimes it is acceptable to break a rule - this is the perfect example of it being okay to blow you highlights. Its almost like the dog is popping out of a piece of bright white paper. Ithought it was great.
at first i didn't like it, but after I studied it for a while, I thought it was amazing. don't know if this was an accident or on purpose, but I like the "disappearance" of the body into the blown out background. nice work if it was planned or not edited.
This I like! I'd like to see this without the shadow also ( i know you couldn't do that within the rules). Poor bloke looks like you're blinding him with your light sorce. Great job.9
