 This is no winner, though I enjoyed the challenge of trying to personify something, a lot harder than it sounds

Good Job I really like this. It reminds me of some kind of cartoon animation. I think Gauti's comment above about the room being in the dark peeking into the lit doorway is a great idea.

emotion well captured. the shadow on the wall is a distraction. maybe if you had the room unlit and the lamp looking into the light through the doorway this would be even more effective.

Personification exemplified. I knew a lot of people would use the lamp idea, but this was a cute way to use it that added a lot of personality too.

Plus you have smooshy looking carpet, and I like smooshy carpet.

I love gooseneck lamps. Okay, so I'm weird. But it gets you an 8 for this chllenge. I really think you got the idea here. The color balance seems slightly off - kinda pink. I like the composition.

Reminds me of the Pixar Studio lamp. Great idea for this competition. This pic just tells you what it's all about without even seeing the title. Great job.

As a fellow desk lamp entrant, I like your idea better. The technicals of this pic have slight problems (there seems to be a cast), but I like it. Does a good job capturing the characteristic you were going for. 8

HEE HEE. Really clever. I think with the "ordinary" sense of the wood and carpet, I might have done this in black and white to minimize that and concentrate on the contrast. Really cute idea.

I love this shot. It's not visually stunning, but you did a teriffic job of showing personification without making a human form. More dramatic lighting might have helped the effect.
