Very good. I like the DOF with the lady being a touch out of focus. B + W works great.

seems more to suggest happiness and joy to me, rather than pride. I, of course, know that the two aren't mutually exclusive but the emotions I see are: fun, happy, joy, relaxed but not pride per se.
very good photo BTW, focus just right and comp very good.

I would have liked the wife in focus. I do like the capture and the fact that it is B/W.

seems a little grey with not much contrast. I really like the expressions on their faces - seems to match very well with your title and the fact that you can see his wedding band really helps too - nice picture
