Actually, that's the Navy's Blue Angels team, in San Francisco for Fleet Week celebrations.

I had to turn quickly while walking to capture this formation, with the older camera at a wide-angle setting -- I actually cropped out a lot more flared sky from the upper-left.

I don't know why I didn't adjust the tilt more ... I was kind of out of time as I think this was shot the day of the deadline.

Thanks for all the comments -- some of them suggest some possible additional editing.

Interesting picture. Love the vastness of this pier and its a great trail in the sky. Good colors but the subject seems to be the pier and not so much focus is put on the trails. Still, I like the picture without the title.

the horizon is off to the right, and too bad of the lensflare.

Yes, like the idea, but the vapour trails are not the place where the eye comes to rest - they are incidental. All the leading lines drag the eye off down the pier.

Also check the horizon - falls off to the right.

I like the capture for a personal photo in a collection, however as a challenge entry the image does not jump out to me. You have the glare in the lens which is distracting too me.

Has potential to be a nice shot, but the lighting isn't that great and the horizon's pretty crooked.

the pier is very dark in the shot. i would like to see this shot with more even lighting.

the title tells me nothing, the photo tells me nothing. looks like a bunch of people standing around on a tilted horizon.

Not a bad scene, but hurt by lens flare and more importantly, the tilted horizon. The flare might be lessened by holding a piece of paper or some other diffusing material above the lens to shield the sun. Rotating can be done easily in photoshop or any other image editing program.

For me, I don't see the celebration connection in your photo (sorry). Your title refers me to the sky, but when I look at your shot my eyes stay focused on the boardwalk and the bright sun refelctions of the water on the left hand side. Perhaps a different time of day would work better?

I like the sky decoration, but I'd most definitely straighten the til of this shot. The water on the left seems a bit "hot" - probably due to the time of day.
