Really nice portrait and deviating nicely from the usual serious poses one tends to associate with portraits. Love the composition and the wonderful mood created here. Good job on the lighting, too. Nice how your mood and smile mirrors that of the sculpture. Find this picture very classy and original. Again, i have the sense that this picture captures the real you very well. That sculpture you have is great and a fantastic prop!
That's really the pits about these challenges. Perhaps as Magazine Cover it isn't the most suitable submission but as for self-portraits it should have garnered top 5. It's one of the reasons that i prefer lately to spend my time viewing/commenting on people's portfolios rather than on challenge submissions.
From what i'm seeing, you'll be able to pull a lot more good stuff out of the Minolta but you are also definitely worthy of better gear.

Ha! Never heard of this magazine, but who cares! This is a fun, quirky shot that feeds on itself very nicely.

Only exists as a magazine in your imagination.

Can't imagine what a magazine of this title might be about but the image is cute and rather enigmatic.

Did a google for "conehead digest", and this was the first hit. Unfortunately, I didn't find any other match. I'm one of those LMVs who expected a real magazine. If this is one, sorry. As a photo, I suppose if there were a conehead digest, this might as likely be a cover as anything else. I find the figure disturbing, but I suppose conehead types might find this appealing. 3

Does that magazine exist? Very interesting visual effect, though; it seems a pity the top of the statue (?) is cut off.

I looked it up, but "search for 'conehead digest' showed no results". Oh well. s'pose it could be real. anyway, the focus on the girl is way too soft for my personal liking. love the statue though. angle is good. the border is aweful. weather or not it's on the real magazine, it does not appeal to me at all.

Well, if that's a real magazine, this WOULD be a great cover for it. :) 8.

This could also work for self-portrait. How did you get the black background?

Okay. The magazine appears to be made up, which is a shame. (Dubious title, and no result on google.) I wish you'd have come up with an existing magazine to go with it, but I'll give you credit for humor.

The shot is kind of interesting, real vs statue, though I don't know what the heck the topic of the cover story would be.

I think it would have been better to have either a different background or a different colour shirt; the shirt has a tendency to try to fade into the bg though I can see the line of the arm.

There's room for cover logo and copy. Assuming a full-bleed shot and the right colour copy it would work fairly well.

This gives a surreal type of effect. Kind of strange. I like it. Is thet supposed to be a model of the lady in the picture?

funny, but the composition/or woman should have been raised 1 mtr so that everything looked centered

Ok, I actually laughed out loud for real. As opposed to just typing "LOL" and not meaning it. That's quite funny...!
