Street candid at the Michael Campbell (2005 US Golf Open Winner) Street Parade in Wellington, New Zealand (Cambo's a Wellington boy).

Shot taken from about 40metres away at 350mm. I was taking a photo of the group focussing on the middle guy but ended up with an image all about the guy behind.

This is one of those images that appeal to me because they tell a story and therefore involves the viewer. There are questions arising from it.

You can make up your own story and you may be right. For me, I was asking if the guy in the background is usually left out as he is here in both the photo and in the conversation. Is he about to say something or is he contemplating? Perhaps he resents his friend taking the limelight every time he is about to speak or does he secretly love him and can never say so?

Admiration, envy, fellowship, collegial buddies or lovers? You decide.

I really like this shot and the "story". The juxtaposition of the two expressions makes it even more curious.
