|No, the sky is NOT cloned! This canyon is famous around here for its fall colors, and rightly so. I happened to find a nice sky, too, but I had to hike through weeds for a half mile in my slippers to put the effects into the right place relative to the hill and trees.
PP: Put sky and ground on different layers. Sky: autocontrast, then faded until it looked good to me. Used Neatimage to clean it up a bit. Ground: lightened, cloned out a few fence posts, adjusted levels, but not colors (well, okay, when you adjust levels, you are adjusting colors, too). I used my Watercolor Filter and Crosshatch Filter at 15% technique to augment the textures. I also burned the shadows of the aspens at left to bring out their details. Gosh, I can't think of anything else--Oh yeah, I sharpened it, converted to DPC size, sharpened again and added a 4 pixel border.
I hope you enjoy this season as much as I do!
