I wasn't even thinking of the challenge when I took this, but when I saw it, I thought it really popped and fit, so I thought I'd jump back in my first challenge in a long time and see how it does.

This should've scored higher. I love the colors and fits perfectly.

Sandy, this is just gorgeous!! Great entry for this challenge with eye-popping color... under-rated IMO

A Crimson Rosella perhaps?Shame about the wire.

Unfortunately there are too many complementary pairs here to demonstrate the effect of one colour contrasted against its opposite. If the photo was cropped to remove the blue feathers on the bird's body, that would have been a great demonstration of complementary colour contrast between red and green.

Nevertheless, this is a great photo of a colourful bird.

This is a really tough challenge, and you have captured a deep range of colors that work well together, you really can't beat nature, great work....10

You cannot not beat the colors in nature. Everything goes together! Excellent choice of subject (your parrot is beautiful), shot from an interesting angle, great technically. I am soooooooooooo happy that you shared this image with us, I love it. Great Job! 10

Beautiful bird. Lory? The cage wire detracts from the overall shot. Love the DOF.

Wonderful capture here. Very sharp and bright. You use the red subject against a green background.

The first two colors I see are red and blue. I think the green should be in focus if you are going to use it as the complementary to the red.
